So Mum and I have been on quite the PI spiffing up kick over the past year or so. Two weekends ago we painted the downstairs bathroom. Here we have the before and after. The plant isn’t really staying there. We just wanted to freak Dad out.
It’s Radiant Rose and I adore it, even it does kind of glow when you get the afternoon light through that west window.

We also tried a new color in the living room but despite much debate between various paint chips, the color we picked just did not work. And that my friends, is why you buy a quart of paint and not a gallon. Once again, before to the left and after to the right. It was just not as dark as we thought it would be and something about the tone was just wrong.

So instead, Mom repainted the kitchen bureau and chairs with blue that was the right color.

We also took up some nasty, ancient carpet in the living room. Can’t wait to see what Dad says about that.
It looks really good with my grandparents’ sofa and armchair, rug and little table and chairs.

And I found a great slipcover at Job Lot for the old sofa, which makes a very comfy place to sit on the porch. How is it that that sofa can be so much more comfortable outside than inside?

And of course there was scraping paint. There’s always scraping paint.
